Les Voiles 2012, St Tropez

This was the first time I have been in Cote D’azur St Tropez at the time of the classic yacht race LES VOILES.

This Mediterranean Vintage Classic is the closing event of the summer season.
Due to lack of time I could only manage the three days of taking part in the festivities with the odd glass of wine and dinner parties before the racing took place.

This was the 5th year in a row I have travelled to St Tropez, but my friends there always said to me to try coming on the eve of the Les Voiles.

What could be better than looking at the super yachts and rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous for a few days a year?

I also noticed how easy it is to get around without the mass influx of people and how much more beautiful the French Riviera looks with some of the worlds most famous Super yachts and sailing enthusiasts.

With the Yachts comes its crew, which many of them are into skiing, and biking so if you like great chat-good fun and love classic vintage yachts les voiles is worth a visit.

We recommend Club 55 – Usually the intolerable one-way street that leads there would take 1 hour, the end of September there is little to no traffic.

At night – Salama this is one of my favourite restaurants! Serving the best traditional Moroccan cuisine on the French Riviera.

Steep Regards,
Evy McKenzie
